This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys having ownership of the numbers, being involved in the day to day running of finance and working closely with the wider business.

We are recruiting a Finance Manager for an established business in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play an important role within the finance team, taking responsibility for the day to day finance function while providing accurate and meaningful information to support business decisions.

It is a broad, hands on position where you will be close to the detail but also have the opportunity to look beyond the numbers and understand what is driving performance.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts and ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Working closely with the Finance Director, providing financial information, analysis and insight
• Reviewing performance, investigating variances and understanding what sits behind the numbers
• Managing cash flow and providing clear visibility of the financial position
• Overseeing the day to day finance function, ensuring everything is running smoothly and deadlines are met
• Leading budgeting and forecasting and monitoring performance throughout the year
• Building relationships with managers across the business and helping them understand their financial performance
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring the integrity of financial information
• Supporting year end, VAT and statutory reporting requirements
• Working with auditors and external advisers when required
• Reviewing processes, systems and reporting and identifying opportunities to make them more effective
• Supporting and developing the finance team, providing guidance and ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities

The Candidate

You will have strong all round finance experience and be confident managing both the monthly reporting cycle and the day to day demands of a busy finance function.

You may be qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience. More important will be your ability to take ownership, understand the detail and build good relationships with people across the business.

You will be someone who is happy to roll up your sleeves when needed, but who can also take a wider view, identify what the numbers are telling you and work closely with the Finance Director to support the business as it continues to develop.

Remuneration

• £50,000 – £55,000 per annum depending on experience
• Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (office based).
• 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• Parking, annual bonus, pension

This role is based in Milton Keynes and is within commutable distance of Northampton, Bedford, Woburn, Leighton Buzzard, Buckingham, Aylesbury, Luton and surrounding areas.
