ABOUT ME

I am an AAT Level 3 qualified finance professional with several years of practical experience and am now looking for the next opportunity to continue developing my accounting career.

My experience has given me exposure to a good mix of transactional and wider accounting responsibilities, and I particularly enjoy roles where I can understand the numbers rather than simply process them. I am naturally detail focused, analytical and comfortable investigating differences or working through financial information to make sure it is accurate.

I enjoy learning and have gradually taken on broader responsibilities as my career has developed. I would now like to join a business where I can build on that experience, continue expanding my accounting knowledge and become a valued member of the finance team.

LOOKING FOR

I am looking for an Accounts Assistant or similar developing finance role within approximately 30 minutes’ travel of Milton Keynes.

For my next move, I would like a position that gives me a good mixture of accounting responsibilities and the opportunity to continue developing my experience around month end, reporting and financial analysis.

I am currently on a one month notice period and am looking for a salary of circa £30,000 per annum.

The right environment is important to me. I am looking for a business where I can continue learning, take on more responsibility as I develop and have the opportunity to progress over the longer term.

IMPORTANT TO ME

I value being part of a team where people communicate well and where I can understand how my work contributes to the wider finance function and business.

Accuracy is important to me, but so is understanding what sits behind the numbers. I enjoy being given responsibility and having the opportunity to investigate something rather than simply passing a query on to somebody else.

I am still developing my career, so being somewhere that encourages learning and gives me exposure to different areas of finance would be particularly important in my next role.

INTERESTS

I am particularly interested in financial analysis and reporting and enjoy seeing how information from different areas of finance comes together to provide a clearer picture of business and project performance.

Month-end accounting is another area I would like to continue developing. I already have experience of accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and financial reporting and would like to build on this further in my next position.

I also have an interest in technology and how it can be used within finance. I have worked with a variety of finance and reporting systems and have some introductory knowledge of Python and HTML, reflecting my wider interest in data, systems and problem solving.

SKILLS AND WORKING PREFERENCES

I have practical experience across accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, banking, accruals, prepayments, WIP, month-end support and financial reporting.

My experience also includes monitoring revenue and costs, producing financial information, dealing with supplier and billing queries and working with colleagues outside of finance to resolve issues and keep financial information accurate and up to date.

I am comfortable using a range of systems including SAP S/4HANA, NetSuite, Coupa, Salesforce, Power BI and A4E, alongside intermediate Excel.

I enjoy working collaboratively but am equally comfortable taking ownership of my own responsibilities and deadlines. I am organised, willing to learn and keen to continue broadening my experience.
