ABOUT ME

I am an Accounts Assistant with practical experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable and a desire to continue building my career within finance.

Since moving into a dedicated finance role, I have developed hands-on experience across invoice processing, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end support. I enjoy the accuracy and organisation that finance requires and particularly like investigating differences and making sure everything balances as it should.

Before moving into finance, I spent several years within a busy operational and administrative environment. This gave me strong organisational skills, an understanding of working to deadlines and the confidence to communicate with different people across a business.

I have completed my AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping and am now looking for an opportunity where I can build on the experience I already have and continue developing within accounts.

LOOKING FOR

I am looking for an Accounts Assistant or similar finance opportunity within Wellingborough, Rushden, Kettering, Northampton and the surrounding areas.

I am immediately available and would ideally like to join a business where I can become part of an established finance team, broaden my experience and gradually take on more responsibility.

I already have a good grounding in accounts payable and accounts receivable, so my next move is about continuing that development and gaining greater exposure to the wider accounts function.

My salary expectation is circa £28,000 per annum, depending on the role and responsibilities.

IMPORTANT TO ME

Finding the right team and environment is important to me. I enjoy working with people who support each other and where everyone understands how their individual responsibilities contribute to the wider finance function.

I take pride in being reliable and getting things right. Accuracy matters to me, particularly when dealing with invoices, payments and financial records, and I am comfortable taking the time to investigate something when it does not look correct.

For my next move, I would like to find somewhere I can continue learning, become a valued member of the team and develop my finance career over the longer term.

INTERESTS

I particularly enjoy the problem-solving side of accounts. Reconciling a supplier account, investigating a difference or resolving an invoice query gives me the opportunity to look at the detail and understand what has happened rather than simply processing a transaction.

I am also interested in understanding more about how the different areas of a finance department connect. Having already gained experience across both accounts payable and accounts receivable, I would like to continue broadening my knowledge and gain greater exposure to the month-end process and wider accounting responsibilities.

Process improvement also interests me. I have seen first-hand how introducing better ways of working can improve the effectiveness of a finance team and contribute positively to the wider business.

SKILLS

I have hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, three-way matching, supplier statement reconciliations, payment runs and resolving supplier queries.

I am also familiar with supporting month-end, completing account reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

My previous operational experience means I am accustomed to working in busy environments, prioritising competing tasks and maintaining accuracy when dealing with large amounts of information.

I have experience using Epicor alongside Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and am comfortable learning new systems and processes.

I enjoy being part of a team but am equally comfortable taking responsibility for my own workload. I am looking for a role where I can contribute from the outset while continuing to learn from those around me.

WHY THIS CANDIDATE STANDS OUT

Abbie offers a really good foundation for an employer looking for an Accounts Assistant who is still developing but already has practical finance experience.

She has hands-on exposure to both AP and AR, including invoice processing, three-way matching, supplier reconciliations, multi-currency BACS payment runs and month-end support. Combined with her AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping, this gives her a solid base from which to continue developing.

Her earlier background in administration and operations is also valuable. She is accustomed to working in busy environments where organisation, accuracy and good communication are important and has already seen how improved finance processes can have a positive impact on business performance.

Immediately available, Abbie would suit an organisation looking for an Accounts Assistant in Wellingborough, an accounts professional in Rushden or Kettering, or a developing finance team member in Northampton and the surrounding areas.
