We are delighted to work exclusively with our Northampton-based client to recruit a part-time Finance Manager, working 4 days per week, on a fixed-term contract basis. This key role will initially be for 6 months, starting as soon as possible. It’s a great opportunity for a commercially aware and hands-on finance professional to play a central role in the financial management of the organisation, while enjoying a flexible working arrangement within a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO to ensure effective financial management and reporting across the group.
  • Oversee the management and control of all capital and revenue budgets, working collaboratively with the wider Finance team and SMT to ensure financial accountability across all departments.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely management accounts, providing insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Take responsibility for key financial and operational processes, including supporting payroll and financial systems development.
  • Lead and manage the Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment through effective recruitment, training, and communication.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality financial service to internal and external stakeholders, supporting the organisation in achieving its objectives.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the Board, offering clear insights to support strategic decision-making.

The Candidate

We’re looking for a hands-on individual who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. You’ll quickly identify and tackle problems with a calm and proactive approach. The ideal candidate will have strong management accounting experience and proven experience in staff management and payroll. We’re looking for someone warm, approachable, with strong mentoring skills. You’ll also play a key role in building relationships across the organisation, so confidence in operating at all levels is essential. Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to juggle a varied workload are crucial.
