Debbie Burbage Recruitment is delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established and growing business in Wellingborough, in their search for a Management Accountant. The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making across the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and journal postings.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, providing variance analysis and commentary.
  • Monitoring cash flow, preparing reconciliations, and supporting treasury management.
  • Carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Supporting year-end processes, audit preparation, and statutory reporting.
  • Providing insightful financial analysis to support commercial decisions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.

The Candidate

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Management Accountant who enjoys working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in management accounts preparation.
  • Strong technical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence with accounting systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates are welcome to apply.

Remuneration 

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 pro-rata per annum, depending on experience    

Hours: 40 hours per week – office-based

Holidays: 31 days, including Bank Holidays

Other: Pension, Parking
