Overview

We’re proud to be working exclusively with our client in Northampton to recruit an experienced Head of Finance. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a key leadership position with responsibility for all aspects of financial management, reporting, and strategic support across the group. Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead all financial reporting activities, including management accounts, statutory accounts, and compliance across multiple entities.
  • Oversee company secretarial duties, taxation returns, Companies House filings, and board reporting, working with external advisors where appropriate.
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Manage group financial consolidation, including multi-currency reporting and international coordination across time zones.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and senior team to deliver insightful analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting that supports informed decision-making.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a small, high-performing finance team, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Support ongoing group structure simplification, funding initiatives, and sustainable business growth.

The Candidate

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an exceptional QBE) with strong technical expertise.
  • Proven experience preparing both statutory and management accounts.
  • Confident in managing group reporting across multiple territories and currencies.
  • Experience leading and developing a small finance team.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and ideally some familiarity with IFRS.
  • Strong systems experience, including advanced Excel skills; Sage and/or Xero preferred.
  • Background in securing funding and advising on efficient business structures that support

Remuneration 

  • £75,000 – c£85,000 plus 10% bonus (depending on experience)
  • 5 hours per week, pension, on-site parking
  • 25 days holiday, plus statutory bank holidays
