As the Finance Manager you will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring strong controls are in place and delivering clear, actionable insights to support growth. This hands-on role calls for sharp analytical skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with both operational teams and senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities 

Duties will include:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis
  • Ensure timely completion of VAT returns, payroll, and other statutory filings
  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards and relevant financial regulations
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and treasury management
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures

The Candidate

This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys looking at efficiencies and processes whilst working in a small team. You’ll be someone who likes rolling up your sleeves and getting things done, while keeping a steady hand on day-to-day finance operations.

  • Relevant qualifications (AAT or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Finance Manager or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Modelling).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial acumen with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

Desirable

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience with financial planning software.

Remuneration 

  • £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
  • 37.5 hours per week (1 day WFH)
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Death in Service benefit: 3 x Annual Salary
  • Company Pension Plan
