Overview

We’re proud to be partnering with a well-respected not-for-profit organisation based in Northampton, who are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join their collaborative team.

Working closely with the Finance Director, this is a varied and rewarding role with a strong focus on leadership, process improvement, and financial control. You’ll play a key part in developing the finance team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and supporting wider business objectives across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Director, duties will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts for review with the FD
• Leading on cashflow forecasting and budget preparation
• Reviewing systems and processes across the sales, purchase and general ledger, payroll, cash/banking, and stock control
• Supporting system and process improvement initiatives across multiple sites
• Providing analysis and insight to support operational and strategic decisions
• Managing and mentoring the finance team, fostering growth, confidence, and a supportive working environment
• Collaborating with Heads of Department to ensure effective financial support and meaningful management reporting
• Assisting the FD with audit preparation, statutory reporting, and funding applications
• Contributing to additional finance projects and ad hoc business reporting

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is both hands-on and people focused. You’ll bring solid management accounting experience, confidence in staff leadership, and a proactive mindset. You’ll be:

• Calm in a busy environment and solution-focused
• Approachable, warm, and able to communicate effectively across all levels
• Experienced in staff supervision, mentoring, and payroll
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Remuneration 

• £45,000 – c£48,000 depending on experience
• 37 hours per week (office based)
• 31 days, including statutory bank holidays
