Overview

Our Northampton based client is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. We are working with them exclusively, and they are looking for someone who enjoys responsibility, has a strong eye for detail, and wants to continue developing their skills within a supportive environment.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role will play an important part in the month end process and the production of accurate financial information.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with month end preparation
  • Preparing journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the production of management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Analysing variances and providing clear explanations
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting
  • Helping with day to day finance tasks when required to ensure smooth running of the department

The Candidate

This role would suit someone who has experience within a similar finance role and is looking to take the next step in their development. You may be studying AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or have equivalent experience. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a confident approach to working with numbers are important. You will be someone who communicates well, enjoys problem solving, and feels comfortable taking ownership of tasks. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and wider team will be key to success in this role.


Remuneration 

  • £30,000 – £33,000 depending on experience
  • 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (early finish on a Friday) – Office based
  • Study support
  • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Auto-enrolment pension
