Overview

We are excited to announce our exclusive partnership with an established Northampton based company, who are in search of a driven and committed Assistant Accountant to become an integral part of their cooperative finance team. This hands-on position involves managing both the purchase and sales ledgers, as well as contributing to the preparation of management accounts. Key Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure meticulous management of the purchase ledger by accurately and promptly processing invoices and payments.
  • Support sales ledger operations, encompassing invoicing, credit control, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Regularly perform bank reconciliations to guarantee the precision and integrity of financial records.
  • Aid in the creation of the monthly Management Accounts pack, including profit and loss analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Work closely with team members across various departments to collect financial data and offer support where necessary.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess at least an AAT qualification and have a proactive, hands-on approach. They should take pride in managing daily transactions within the sales and purchase ledgers and demonstrate the capability to contribute to the creation of management accounts, ready for review alongside the Financial Controller. Proficiency in Excel, particularly with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, is crucial. Equally important is a strong sense of teamwork and a genuine eagerness to learn and enhance one’s skills in a collaborative manner, always willing to assist colleagues as needed.


Remuneration

  • Salary £35,000 – £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

  • 8.00am – 4pm Monday to Friday (office based)
  • 20 days holiday plus statutory days.
