Overview

We are delighted to be working exclusively with our client, a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Corby, to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either studying towards their AAT/ACCA/CIMA or has gained solid accounts experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities 

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Posting accruals, prepayments, and journals
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Assisting with year-end audit preparation
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who is proactive, motivated and enjoys working in a busy finance environment. Previous experience within a manufacturing or product-based business would be an advantage, but is not essential.

• Studying towards or AAT qualified, with the ambition to progress further
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Remuneration 

• £30,000 – £33,000 depending on experience
• 8.30 am – 5.00 pm – Office-based
• 33 days, including statutory bank holidays
• Study support, staff discount, pension, parking
