ABOUT ME

I am a part-qualified accountant with a strong academic background and practical experience across financial accounting, month end, reporting and treasury.

Having achieved a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance, I have continued my professional studies and am now 11 out of 13 exams completed towards ACCA qualification.

I am analytical and naturally detail focused, but I also enjoy communicating with people across a business and understanding the wider picture behind the numbers. My experience has developed considerably since graduating, and I am now looking for an opportunity where I can take the next step in my career and continue progressing towards becoming a fully qualified accountant.

I would describe myself as self-motivated, approachable and conscientious. I take pride in producing accurate work, enjoy learning and am comfortable taking responsibility for my own workload while remaining very much part of a wider team.

LOOKING FOR

I am looking for an Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar part-qualified accounting opportunity within Buckingham, Bicester, Oxford and the surrounding areas.

My next move is about continuing to broaden my financial accounting experience and taking on greater responsibility as I progress towards completing my ACCA qualification.

I would particularly like a role where I can remain involved in month end and financial reporting while continuing to develop areas such as statutory accounting, audit, balance sheet work and wider financial analysis.

I am currently on a one month notice period and am looking for a salary in the region of £42,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on the overall opportunity.

IMPORTANT TO ME

Continued development is important to me. I have invested considerably in both my academic and professional accounting studies and would like to join an organisation where I can put that knowledge into practice and continue learning from experienced finance professionals.

I enjoy being trusted with responsibility and like working in an environment where people communicate openly and support one another.

The opportunity to understand the wider business is also important. I do not want to view finance in isolation and enjoy working with different teams, understanding their requirements and seeing how the financial information we produce supports better decision-making.

INTERESTS

I am particularly interested in financial accounting and enjoy the process of bringing financial information together at month end and understanding the story behind the numbers.

Financial reporting, balance sheet accounting and analysis are areas I would like to continue developing. I enjoy investigating differences, understanding movements and making sure the underlying information is accurate before it is reported.

I have also developed an interest in treasury and cash management. Understanding cash requirements and how money moves through a business has given me another perspective on the importance of accurate and timely financial information.

As I approach ACCA qualification, I am keen to continue broadening my technical knowledge and applying what I have learned through my studies within a commercial finance environment.

SKILLS AND WORKING PREFERENCES

My practical experience includes month-end accounting, bank reconciliations, treasury accounting, cash forecasting, journals, trial balances, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, intercompany accounting and financial analysis.

I have also gained exposure to statutory accounts, year-end accounting, consolidation activities and supporting both internal and external audit requirements.

Working within an international environment has given me experience of communicating with colleagues across different teams and locations, resolving accounting differences and taking responsibility for areas of the reporting process.

I have worked with a range of finance and reporting systems including Cognos Controller, TM1, D365, BPCS and Spreadsheet Server, alongside Microsoft Excel.

I am comfortable working independently and managing deadlines but also enjoy being part of a team where information and knowledge are shared.
