ABOUT ME

I am an experienced finance professional with a broad accounting background and a genuine enjoyment of working across different areas of a finance function.

I have built my experience over a number of years and particularly enjoy roles where there is variety, where I can take ownership of my work and where I have the opportunity to understand the wider financial picture rather than concentrating on just one area.

I would describe myself as organised, dependable and naturally comfortable with numbers. I enjoy getting into the detail, investigating differences and making sure things are accurate, but I also like understanding why the numbers look the way they do and what they mean for the wider business.

I am AAT part qualified and am now looking for an opportunity where I can continue developing my accounting knowledge and build further on the experience I have gained.

LOOKING FOR

I am looking for my next Assistant Management Accountant opportunity, ideally within Towcester, Daventry, Brackley or the surrounding areas.

I currently live in Towcester and am on a one month notice period.

My next move is about continuing my progression within finance. I would particularly like a position where I can build further experience around month end and management accounts while still using the broad accounting knowledge I have developed throughout my career.

Having worked within different finance environments, I am open-minded about the type of organisation. The opportunity itself, the people I will be working with and the potential to continue developing are particularly important to me.

IMPORTANT TO ME

I enjoy being part of a finance team where everyone is willing to get involved and there is a good understanding of how each person’s responsibilities contribute to the bigger picture.

Variety is important to me. I have developed experience across different areas of accounts and enjoy roles that allow me to use a broad range of skills rather than concentrating on one small part of the finance function.

I also value stability and the opportunity to really get to know a business. I would like my next move to be somewhere I can become an established and trusted member of the finance team while continuing to develop professionally.

INTERESTS

I am particularly interested in the month-end and management accounting side of finance and would like to continue developing my knowledge in this area.

Having experience across different areas of accounts has given me a good understanding of the transactions sitting behind the numbers. I enjoy seeing how that information comes together and contributes to the wider financial picture.

I also enjoy investigating queries and discrepancies. Whether it is reconciling an account, resolving an issue or understanding why something has changed, I like getting into the detail and finding the answer.

SKILLS

I have broad hands-on finance experience including purchase ledger, accounts receivable, credit control, supplier payments, bank reconciliations, cash allocation, VAT, fixed assets and month-end support.

My experience has also included working with cash flow information, profit and loss analysis, audit requirements and supporting wider financial reporting.

I am comfortable working with different currencies and have considerable experience using SAP, alongside Sage 50, JD Edwards and Excel.

I am happy taking ownership of my own responsibilities while also enjoying the interaction and support that comes from being part of a close finance team. I am adaptable, practical in my approach and comfortable getting involved wherever needed.
