I am an experienced finance professional with over 14 years of experience across management accounting and the wider finance function, gained within manufacturing, distribution and service-led environments. I enjoy being hands on with the numbers, understanding what sits behind them and producing accurate financial information that helps colleagues and managers make informed decisions.

Throughout my career, I have developed broad experience across month end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reconciliations and financial analysis, alongside a strong grounding in transactional finance. This has given me a good understanding of how the different areas of finance work together and the importance of getting the detail right.

I am naturally organised, reliable and inquisitive, and I enjoy investigating variances, resolving issues and looking for practical ways to make financial processes more efficient. I am also continuing with my CIMA studies and am keen to keep developing my knowledge and experience.

I am seeking a Management Accountant or similar hands on finance opportunity within Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, Towcester, Daventry and the surrounding areas.

I am immediately available and would particularly enjoy joining a friendly finance team where I can use the experience I already have while continuing to develop. I enjoy roles that offer a good mixture of month end responsibilities, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis, as well as the opportunity to work with people across the wider business.

Having worked within manufacturing, distribution and service environments, I am comfortable joining businesses where understanding costs, margins and operational performance is an important part of the finance role.

My salary expectation is circa £42,000 per annum, depending on the scope and responsibilities of the role.

I like having ownership of my responsibilities while also being connected to the wider business. Understanding what different departments are trying to achieve and being able to provide financial information that helps them is one of the aspects of management accounting I particularly enjoy.

INTERESTS

I genuinely enjoy the problem solving side of finance. Whether I am investigating a variance, working through a reconciliation or looking at why costs have changed, I like getting into the detail and understanding the answer.

I also have an interest in how systems, technology and automation can make everyday finance processes more efficient. I enjoy learning new systems and finding better ways of working, particularly where this can reduce repetitive tasks and improve the accuracy of financial information.

I also enjoy getting involved in activities that support the wider community and have previously contributed to charitable and fundraising initiatives.

SKILLS AND WORKING PREFERENCES

I bring broad experience across management accounts, month end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.

My strengths include investigating variances, understanding cost drivers and producing financial information that helps others understand business performance. I am comfortable working with colleagues outside of finance and enjoy explaining financial information in a clear and practical way.

I also have experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support and credit control, giving me a good understanding of the wider finance function. Alongside this, I have worked with a variety of finance systems including SAP, Oracle, Xero, Sage and QuickBooks and have strong Excel skills.

I am comfortable managing my own workload independently but particularly enjoy being part of a collaborative finance team where people share knowledge and support one another.
