Overview

Debbie Burbage Recruitment is pleased to be partnering exclusively with an established charitable foundation that delivers meaningful impact across Bedfordshire. Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join on a part time basis, working three days per week.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working across a broad remit and is confident managing both day-to-day activity and higher-level reporting.


The Role

The Finance Manager will take responsibility for the full financial management of the group, carrying out practical accounting activity as well as supporting strategic decision making. Duties include:

  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and processing all transactions, including journals
  • Preparing annual accounts and supporting the full audit process
  • Producing budgets, forecasts and clear financial reports for the Trustees
  • Monitoring cash flow, financial performance and variances
  • Liaising with investment managers and preparing investment performance updates
  • Overseeing business assets and ensuring ICT and vehicles remain compliant
  • Managing monthly payroll and HR related administration
  • Leading IT and systems improvement projects and monitoring associated risks
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory organisations, VAT, and insurance requirements

The Candidate

You will be an experienced and confident finance manager who brings strong technical expertise alongside a supportive and collaborative approach. You will be ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, and comfortable being hands-on and working within a small team. You will enjoy working independently across a varied workload, using your judgement to prioritise effectively, while communicating clearly with colleagues, Trustees and external partners.

Remuneration 

  • £55,000 – c£60,000 pa pro-rata depending on experience
  • 3 days a week – Hybrid offered 1 day per week, after you have settled into the role
  • 28 days holiday, including Bank Holidays pro rata
  • Auto-enrolment pension

This position is based in Luton and within commutable distance of Milton Keynes, Houghton Regis, Dunstable, Berkhamsted, Bedford, Hitchin, Harpenden, Leighton Buzzard and Hemel Hempstead.
