Overview

We are pleased to be working exclusively with a business based to the south of Milton Keynes looking to recruit a Finance Manager. The business has recently been through a significant period of change and is now entering a more settled and positive phase, creating an exciting opportunity for a hands on and resilient finance professional to make a real impact.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and stability to a finance function, and who takes pride in supporting a business as it moves forward.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller, duties include:

  • Full ownership of the day to day finance function, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong financial controls
  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis with clear commentary
  • Managing the month end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations
  • Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts, working closely with the Financial Controller and wider business
  • Cashflow forecasting, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring clear visibility and proactive management
  • Leading balance sheet integrity, with regular reconciliations and investigation of variances
  • Supporting year end processes, audit preparation, and liaison with external advisors
  • Reviewing and improving finance processes, controls, and reporting to help embed new and more effective ways of working
  • Acting as a key finance contact for non finance stakeholders, providing insight, clarity, and support
  • Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior members of the finance team

The Candidate

You will be an experienced Finance Manager or Management Accountant, either qualified or qualified by experience, with a strong technical grounding and confidence in management reporting. You are comfortable stepping into an environment that has evolved and are able to bring structure, calm, and momentum. You will be hands on, adaptable, and commercially aware, with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively across the business. You value teamwork, integrity, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in a business that is now focused on stability and growth.

Remuneration 

  • £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week – Office-based
  • 22 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays
  • Death in service, pension, staff discount
