Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive individual to join our Northampton based client’s team as an Audit Senior. Your primary responsibility will be to provide crucial support to managers by producing high-quality audit files, demonstrating a clear understanding of entity dynamics, risks, and necessary actions. Additionally, you will supervise and review the work of audit assistants, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare comprehensive audit files, showcasing well-defined connections to planning, risk assessment, and required procedures.
  • Complete all areas of the audit file, including critical sections like management letters and uncorrected errors schedules.
  • Play an integral role in the audit planning process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide concise and informative notes to managers, facilitating effective decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Offer unwavering support to managers and contribute to the smooth functioning of audit engagements.
  • Supervise, brief, and review the work performed by audit assistants, offering constructive feedback to promote professional growth.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA Qualified or finalist, demonstrating proficiency in accounting principles.  Be an outstanding team player with excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills.  Capable of working effectively under pressure, managing, and taking ownership of workload and assignment budgets. With proficiency in various accounting packages, enabling seamless data handling.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, showcasing the ability to produce high-quality work and articulate ideas effectively. Exhibits strong client-facing skills, fostering rapport and successful interactions.


Remuneration

  • Salary: £negotiable per annum – this will be discussed in our first conversation *
  • Hours: 37.5 hours – Monday to Friday (Flexible working)
  • Holidays: Generous holidays plus holiday trading
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment
  • Other Benefits:  Study support, free on-site parking, death in service
