Overview

We are working with our Northampton based client who are seeking an experienced Sales Ledger/Credit Control Clerk for a maternity contract for 12 months to join their Accounts Team. This is a hands-on role with plenty of interaction with other team members and management.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership of the sales ledgers, for global sales made on credit to business customers.
  • Processing sales invoices and credit notes promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor and chase outstanding invoices and ensure timely payments from customers.
  • Allocation and posting of customer receipts (in sterling, Euro’s and US dollar) to relevant invoices.
  • Investigate chargebacks and underpayments with card processing companies.
  • Post and reconcile card receipts by card type and e-commerce receipts in multiple currencies daily from bank statements to the relevant accounts.
  • Close all three sales ledgers to the new accounting period at the end of each month.
  • Month end reporting, allocation and reconciliation.
  • Statement generation and issuing customer statements.
  • Assist with filing and banking cheques.
  • Provide assistance with ad-hoc projects as required.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, high levels of accuracy, and a disciplined and structured approach to their work. They should be proficient with MS Office (particularly Excel) as well as knowledge of retail or manufacturing software. Experience of working within an owner-managed business would be an advantage.


Remuneration 

  • £24,000 – £27,500 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 24 days holiday per annum plus statutory days (generally taken in line with company holidays)

  • Working hours 8.30am -5.00pm Mon-Fri with 1 hour lunchbreak, with flexibility for 30 mins lunchbreak also.
