Overview

Debbie Burbage Recruitment is excited to exclusively partner with a thriving SME in Towcester, who is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This pivotal role reports directly to the joint Managing Directors and is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and varied environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasts, offering insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including VAT, corporation tax, and statutory accounts.
• Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s assets.
• Manage and mentor a small finance team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions, providing necessary information and facilitating audits.
• Work closely with the Managing Directors to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in financial management within an SME setting. Whether you’re fully qualified or qualified by experience, what matters most is your passion for a hands-on role and your ability to handle a variety of tasks. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.

Remuneration 

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience  

Hours: 40 hours per week – Office based

Holidays: 25 days plus statutory days  

Other: Pension in line with auto-enrolment, PHI and Life Assurance
