Overview

We’re thrilled to unveil our exclusive collaboration with a reputable company based in the Wellingborough area, currently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their collaborative finance team. This hands-on role encompasses processing both the purchase and sales ledgers and preparing the fundamentals of the management accounts.


Key Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently manage the purchase ledger, encompassing the execution of weekly payment runs and thorough statement reconciliations.
  • Handle sales invoices, including cash allocations and query resolutions.
  • Prepare prepayments and accruals journals with precision.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain the cash flow model accurately.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
  • Analyse profit and loss accounts.
  • Fulfil additional responsibilities as needed.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing an AAT qualification and brings substantial experience in handling both sales and purchase ledgers, which includes preparing accruals and prepayment journals, as well as conducting bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with Sage 50 is considered a plus. A true team player, the candidate should be eager to engage in all facets of accounting, with a keen interest in learning and advancing their career, while still maintaining an active role in the processing of sales and purchase ledgers.


Remuneration

  • Salary £30,000 – £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Study Support
  • 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday (office based)
  • 20 days holiday plus statutory days.
